Summit Presentation Format & Submission Guide

Explore presentation opportunities at the 2027 Gold Humanism Summit and share work that advances humanism in healthcare. We welcome submissions featuring practical solutions that promote safe, kind, and trust-centered care and make a meaningful impact on patient care delivery.

Review the presentation formats and submission guidelines to find the best fit for your work and join a community committed to advancing humanism in healthcare.

Presentation Formats

Presentations will be featured as lecture-style talks, panels, workshops, posters, and roundtable discussions, each of which will offer practical solutions that reflect a humanistic approach to healthcare – defined as kind, safe, trustworthy – and that directly impact the way that patient care is delivered. The intention is for Summit attendees to leave the event with practical action steps to take back with them.

Sessions are expected to be highly engaging and interactive.

Submissions will be accepted for the following general formats:

  • Panel Presentation: A collaborative, conversational presentation featuring multiple presenters who share their work, perspectives, and insights on a common topic. Panels emphasize discussion, diverse viewpoints, and audience Q&As. (45-minutes)
  • Lecture-Style Presentation: An individual presentation in which one presenter delivers an instructional, content-focused lecture on a specific topic, followed by a Q&A session. This format is best suited for sharing knowledge, research findings, or key concepts in a structured presentation. (45-minutes)
  • Workshop: An interactive, hands-on session designed to engage participants in active learning, skill development, or practical application. Workshops may feature one or multiple presenters and require additional information in the abstract to describe the planned activities, learning objectives, and audience participation. (45-minutes)
  • Gold Sparks: An individual submission featuring a short, dynamic presentation, typically 10 minutes in length. Accepted presentations will be grouped with other presentations around a shared topic within an allotted session time. Gold Sparks are designed to highlight key ideas, innovative work, or emerging perspectives in a concise and engaging format.
  • Emerging Voices Panel Presentation: A mentorship-based presentation program designed to support learners, trainees, faculty, and early-career professionals across the health professions as they develop and share work that advances humanism in healthcare. Presentations are typically 5 minutes long and may feature individual or group presenters. Accepted presentations will be grouped with other presentations. This format emphasizes mentorship, professional development, and the sharing of emerging work, ideas, and perspectives. Learn more here.
  • Poster Presentation: A visual presentation format for individuals or groups to share their work, research, projects, or initiatives through a poster. This format provides opportunities for attendees to review the work, engage with presenters, and discuss key findings or ideas.

How to Submit

Applications will open October 26, 2026.

We invite you to share your work at the 2027 Gold Humanism Summit: The Person in Front of You, taking place September 28–30, 2026, in Salt Lake City, Utah, where passionate healthcare professionals, educators, learners, and advocates come together to advance humanism in healthcare.

All prospective presenters must complete the official submission form by Tuesday, January 19, 2027 at 11:59 PM PST.

As part of the submission process, you will be asked to:

  • Select the most appropriate presentation format for your proposal
  • Identify which Summit themes and aim(s) your content aligns with
  • Provide a clear and concise abstract that outlines your topic, objectives, and intended outcomes

Please note: while you may indicate your preferred format, the Summit committee may follow up with clarifying questions and will make the final determination on accepted presentation formats.

All submissions must reflect the Summit’s core values of humanistic healthcare—defined as safe, kind, and engendering trust—and should offer practical, action-oriented solutions that attendees can apply in their own settings.

We welcome submissions that:

    • Foster interaction and meaningful engagement
    • Are grounded in evidence, lived experience, or practice-based insight
    • Reflect a broad range of perspectives across the healthcare continuum
